Free Race Day CBD Bus

We provide a free participant bus service on race day from the CBD to Sky Stadium and return. Catch it on the route below at any normal bus stop, or flag it down by flashing your race number.

Pre-Race Bus Route
The bus will have a sign "Wellington Marathon Shuttle". It will drive a continuous circuit, starting from the eastern end of Courtenay Place at 6:00am, 6:30am, 7:15am and 8:00am, and will drive the following route to Sky Stadium:

• west along Courtenay Place;
• south up Taranaki St;
• west along Ghuznee St;
• north along Willis St:
• north along Lambton Quay;
• north along Stout St;
• east along Bunny St;
• north along Waterloo Quay to Sky Stadium.
• then back south along Waterloo Quay, Customhouse Quay, Jervois Quay, Cable St and Kent Tce to start the next circuit again from the eastern end of Courtenay Place.

Post-Race Bus Route
Post-race, the bus returns back through the CBD using the same route as above. It leaves from the Sky Stadium car park at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:45pm (after prize giving).
