Established in 1986, the Wellington Marathon has been Wellington's favourite footrace for almost four decades.
Based at the famous Hnry Stadium, the fast, flat, scenic route around Wellington's spectacular waterfront creates an occasion for all age and ability.

The Wellington Marathon is organised by MDJ Media & Events Ltd, a family-owned business managed by Michael Jacques. As a participant, coach, journalist and organiser, Michael has been an endurance sport enthusiast for more than 50 years. Other events we organise include the Crazyman multisport event, the Karapoti Classic mountain bike event and the Porirua Grand Traverse multisport event.

The Heart Foundation has been the Wellington Marathon's official charity partner for more than 15 years, raising more than $100,000 for heart health in that time.

Variety of roles from retail-type serving to basic admin and basic computer inputting.
Race Day - Sun 28th June:
Hnry Stadium, Waterloo Quay, Wgtn City.
Variety of roles from marshalling to retail-type serving to handing out medals and drinks.

All road users, residents, cyclists & public foot traffic should be aware that there are road controls in place for the Gazley Volkswagen Marathon on Sunday 28 June. Please have respect for the 4000 runners and walkers on course. If you normally cycle in this area on Sunday, please can you look at an alternative cycle route for this Sunday (or ride later). We appreciate your support and patience.
The Roads affected are:
# Waterloo Quay, Customhouse Quay, Aotea Quay, Cable Street (lane closures 6am-1pm).
# Oriental Parade, Evans Bay Parade (lane closures 7am-1pm).
# Cobham Dve Cycleway & Footpath.
# Shelly Bay Road (road closed 7am-12noon between Miramar Cutting & Shelly Bay).
# Bus services may also be affected, so please check their time tables.
